CARBAFIN presented at EUROCARB XX

Our team member Chao Zhong presented his results at the EUROCARB XX, taking place in Leiden, Netherlands from 30th June to 4th July 2019.

He showed his process of a controlled polymerization of cellodextrins from glucose by using coupled cellobiose and cellodextrin phosphorylase. The resulting soluble cellodextrins have interesting applications as ingredients for human and animal nutrition. The study provides the basis for an efficient and product DP-(degree of polymerization)-controlled biocatalytic synthesis of cellodextrins from expedient substrates.

First Paper released

18 months are over and the first CARBAFIN review meeting took place in Ghent, Belgium. A lot of work has been done, and there is still a lot to do! The first CARBAFIN publication was published recently and is about the enzymatic production of cellodextrins with the help of a novel cellobiose phosphorylase from Clostridium cellulosi.

Poster presentation at RRB15

CARBAFIN people are eager to promote the central project idea at numerous international conferences and fairs! After visiting In-cosmetics 2018, RRB-14 or Biomarkets 2019, project members from University of Ghent represented CARBAFIN with a poster at the International Conference on Renewable Resources & Biorefineries (RRB-15) in Toulouse, France.

You missed the chance to meet us there? Take a look at our poster and get an idea about our objectives. And meet us at the upcoming events, where CARBAFIN is participating:

CARBAFIN in networking action

On 7th May 2019, the Human Technology Styria Cluster (HTS) visited acib GmbH in the frame of its “Fast Forward 4U” event line. About 50 Austrian representatives from industry and academia were welcomed in Graz for networking and gained insights into actual topics of industrial biotechnology in the labs of acib and TU Graz.

CARBAFIN was a topic in Christiane Luley’s presentation, dealing with the generation of new value chains by biotechnology. After a short lab tour, guests came together at the networking buffet and enjoyed the rest of an inspiring evening.
